About The Role
Are you an experienced Clinical Research Associate ready to take ownership of complex clinical trials and play a key role in advancing neuroscience research?
Neuroscience Trials Australia (NTA), part of The Florey Institute of Neuroscience and Mental Health, is seeking a Senior Clinical Research Associate to join our Clinical Operations team. This is an opportunity to work across a diverse portfolio of academic and commercially sponsored clinical trials while helping deliver research that improves lives.
As a Senior Clinical Research Associate, you will lead sponsor monitoring and clinical trial activities across multiple studies, ensuring projects are delivered to the highest standards of quality, compliance and operational excellence. Projects may range from investigator-initiated academic studies through to large commercial trials.
Working closely with project managers, investigators, site staff and sponsors, you'll provide expert oversight of study conduct, site performance and regulatory compliance. On selected projects, you may also take a lead role in coordinating trial delivery where a dedicated project manager has not been assigned.
What You'll Do
- Lead site monitoring activities across a portfolio of clinical trials.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with investigators, coordinators and sponsors.
- Ensure trial documentation and study files remain audit and inspection ready.
- Support delivery of projects on time, within scope and within budget.
- Identify and escalate study risks and operational issues.
- Contribute to process improvement initiatives and operational excellence across NTA.
- Mentor and support less experienced team members where appropriate
About You
You are a proactive and collaborative clinical research professional who enjoys balancing quality, stakeholder engagement and project delivery.
You will bring:
Essential Qualifications and Experience
- Degree in Life Sciences, Health Sciences or a related discipline.
- Minimum 4 years' clinical research experience in a CRO, pharmaceutical, biotechnology, hospital or academic research environment.
- Strong working knowledge of ICH-GCP and clinical trial regulations in Australia and New Zealand.
- Experience conducting monitoring visits and managing essential clinical trial documentation.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.
- Ability to travel as required for study and business needs.
Desirable
- Neuroscience, neurology or mental health research experience.
- Experience within a contract research or service delivery environment.
- Quality systems experience.
- Investigational product management experience.
