About The Role
We are seeking a professional and customer-focused Receptionist to join our team at the Melbourne Brain Centre (Austin campus). This is a full-time, onsite role where you will be the first point of contact for staff, students, and visitors, delivering a high standard of front-of-house service while providing administrative and facilities support.
Key Responsibilities.
Front Desk & Reception
- Welcome and assist visitors, ensuring a positive and professional experience
- Respond to phone, email, and in-person enquiries
- Manage visitor sign-in systems and troubleshoot issues
- Coordinate deliveries, couriers, and mail distribution
- Maintain reception resources, directories, and communication materials
- Support room bookings, car parking access, and general enquiries
- Provide administrative support across the organisation
Facilities Support
- Assist with workspace setup, audits, and maintenance of shared areas
- Support cleaning standards and liaise with contractors
- Help manage storage spaces and inventory tracking
- Provide administrative backup for facilities operations
- Assist with access card and building access requests
Operational & Safety Support
- Support building communications and announcements
- Assist in emergency procedures (e.g., evacuation support)
- Ensure compliance with OH&S policies and contribute to a safe workplace
About You
Essential Skills & Experience:
- Proven experience in a receptionist or customer-facing role
- Strong customer service focus and professional communication skills
- Confident using Microsoft Office and learning new systems
- Excellent organisational skills and ability to manage competing priorities
- Ability to work independently and take initiative
Desirable:
- Experience in a healthcare, research, or medical environment
- Familiarity with switchboard systems
Personal Attributes:
- Friendly, approachable, and professional manner
- Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills
- High attention to detail and time management
