About the role:

The Institutes Research Office plays a crucial role in facilitating and managing various aspects of research activities. Its primary objective is to create an environment that fosters high-quality and ethical medical research while ensuring compliance with regulations and efficient administration of resources.

The candidate will be responsible for:

  • providing leadership, overall administrative and operational assistance for research activities;
  • ensuring research operations align with the broader Institute strategy and objectives;
  • collaborate closely with researchers and principal investigators;
  • provide assistance for research and grant activities (including funding bodies); and
  • manage and enhance key stakeholder relationships, specifically with the University of Melbourne.

This position is a permanent, full-time role. The role attracts an annual salary offer ranging from Higher Education Worker Level 10 (HEW10-1) $126,896 to Higher Education Worker Level 10 (HEW10-3) $158,988 commensurate with experience.

About you:

The successful candidate will have:

  • Strong project management skills and ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Relevant Masters/ PhD or equivalent scientific background understanding.
  • Exceptional stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in next generation research management software applications (E.g. Endpoint Iq) and tools for project management and financial tracking.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to remove roadblocks across complex, multi stakeholder teams.
