About the role:

The Young Stroke Service is looking for an experienced Functional Business Analyst to manage and champion the build of an application that will translate leading research and clinical practice into an impactful medtech platform.  

 This will require strong co-design skills and stakeholder management across researchers, patients, carers, health services, clinicians, and our technology partner. Use your technology problem solving to help our experts achieve their meaningful, patient outcome focused vision. 

 The key purpose of this role is to bridge between the clinical and research requirements of the Young Stroke Service and the third-party digital partners, ensuring the solution matches the requirements. This position is responsible for driving work to ensure recognition of, and responsiveness to, the needs of internal and external stakeholders. 

  The candidate will be responsible for:

• Oversee technical product development to co-design and implement a digital platform for entry, screening, and triage into bespoke health services for young people with stroke. You will coordinate and manage the execution of works in line with the agreed schedule.
• Lead workshops, work groups, and meetings or other activities to meet critical deadlines that are related to YSS digital developments.
• Assist Project management team with the technical scope, schedule, budget, risks, and issues of the project in relation to the technical product development.
• Manage clinical data collection, storage, and sharing within governance of human research ethics approvals, Florey IT, and international data security protocols.
• Operate within the overall program governance whilst employing rigorous planning and documentation for the management of operational activities and project reporting.
• Provide a technical project interface with the project partners to ensure timely and accurate translation of technical choices into health care process impacts to support good.

This position is a fixed-term, part-time role (3 days a week), ceasing 31 December 2026. The role attracts an annual salary offer ranging from Higher Education Worker 7 (HEW 7-1) $88,920 pro-rata to Higher Education Worker (HEW 8-1) $100,032 pro rata, commensurate with experience.

About you:

The successful candidate will have:

• Relevant qualifications and extensive relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training
• Post-graduate qualification in relevant field
• Agile certification or 3+ years of Agile experience
• Technology Vendor – contract management experience
• IT qualifications or proficiency in methodologies such as Prince 2, Agile, PMBOK
• Experience in multi-disciplinary project delivery teams, preferably in first application digital platform environments
• Excellent collaboratively based stakeholder management skills, ability to influence outcomes, align individual perspectives and resolve issues productively.

Experience with the below is desirable, but not essential: 

• Understanding of Health Service delivery environment; understanding of the clinical
• environment relating to survivors of stroke
• Excellent communication, presentation, organisational, and facilitation skills
• Experience with REDCap database.
