Are you a passionate researcher with expertise in neuroimaging? The Australian Epilepsy Project (AEP) is seeking a motivated Post-doctoral Researcher to join our team.
The AEP is a nationwide research initiative funded by the Medical Research Future Fund Frontiers program. Our mission is to enhance epilepsy care by creating decision support tools integrating advanced neuroimaging, neuropsychology, and genetic data. Participants across Australia are undertaking advanced testing, and we are now delving into this data to gain new insights and change the lives of people with epilepsy.
About the role:
As a Post-Doctoral Researcher on the AEP, you'll advance our understanding of epilepsy through neuroimaging and cognitive assessment analysis. Working within a multidisciplinary team, you will conduct in-depth neuroimaging analysis of various data types, and correlate your findings with cognitive assessments to better understand alterations of brain function in epilepsy. Additionally, you will engage in conferences, support team members, and contribute to research proposals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct advanced neuroimaging analyses (quantitative, functional, and diffusion MRI).
- Link neuroimaging findings with neuropsychological data.
- Prepare high quality scientific research papers documenting findings.
- Engage in professional activities.
- Contribute to external funding proposals.
- Foster collaboration and innovation.
- Promote positive relationships.

This position is a fixed-term, full-time role ending on 31st January 2026. Flexible work arrangements will be considered including part-time hours and irregular hours. The role attracts an annual salary offer Research Officer 1 (RO1) $88,155, commensurate with experience.

About you:
The successful candidate will have:
- Ph.D. in Neuroscience, Neuroimaging or a related field.
- Strong neuroimaging analysis background.
- Proficiency in relevant software (e.g., R, MATLAB, Python, FSL, SPM).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Effective communication and collaboration.
- Previous research in epilepsy and associated neurological conditions is a plus.
